Our Tea Culture

Tea is a symbol of nobility for a better world.

Tea: The Power That Uplifts Communities and Brings People Together

Our Tea Culture

  • Tea draws its identity from its history, accompanying human life for five thousand years. It is known as the second most consumed beverage in the world after water.
  • The raw material of tea is fresh tea leaves. Every year, during the shoot period (the newly grown buds of the tea plant), fresh tea is harvested by producers and, following the harvest, processed in tea factories to be transformed into consumable dry tea.
  • The quality of tea is primarily determined by genetic factors, environmental conditions, harvesting methods, and processing techniques. Packaging practices, storage conditions, and brewing methods also have a secondary impact.
  • Teas grown at high altitudes are naturally protected from environmental factors that affect agricultural products, making them more valuable in terms of health. For this reason, Turkish Tea Company uses agricultural products known as the "Harvest of Highlands."
  • The United Nations recognizes May 21st each year as "International Tea Day."
  • Tea derived its nobility from being a royal tradition in the past. Today, its nobility stems from its power to uplift certain segments of society and to bring people together.
  • Tea is consumed in various cultures in different ways (with milk, honey, lemon, sugar, etc.). Turkish Tea Company offers products suited to different consumption styles, allowing for the personalization of tea.

Production Process

About Brewing and Storage

Our special storage and brewing recommendations for our teas are provided next to each tea type on the "Our Products" page.

About Brewing and Storage
  • How tea is stored and brewed is important. Tea that is not kept under proper conditions at every stage of the production and supply chain loses both its flavor and health benefits.
  • Turkish Tea Company begins protecting the “green gold” while it is still growing in the soil and delivers it to you safely with its triple-layer protective packaging throughout all stages of the supply chain.
  • Improperly brewed tea does not release its flavor and aroma.
  • Considering that every tea lover may have different taste preferences, we remind you that we share brewing "recommendations" rather than strict brewing "instructions" for our teas.
  • The "Which Tea Are You?" test is intended to inform tea lovers. Depending on the test results, the tea purchased may produce different flavor profiles under varying brewing and storage conditions.
  • The nutritional values of our teas are listed next to each tea type on the "Our Products" page.
